AIDA Beginner Freediver Course
A perfect start for beginners, the AIDA courses are one of the most comprehensive introduction programs to the world of Freediving.
A great way to start your freediving experience, our AIDA ** Freediver course is the foundation freediving course, covering the necessary skills and knowledge for a non competitive, recreational freediver to safely freedive with or without a guide line. It is designed to be a freediving beginners course for students who are already confident and happy in the water.
The purpose of the course is to familiarise the student with knowledge, practical skills, dive planning, organisation, safety procedures, techniques, awareness of potential problems and natural hazards and of course the enjoyment of breath hold freediving. Students will be introduced to the basic disciplines of freediving; Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea and Constant Weight freediving.
Lets get started
Your Freediving course begins when you book your place by either paying a deposit or for the course in full.
First we will email you an information pack containing everything you need to know about the course as well as information about possible locations and logistics.
Once your booking has been secured, we will send you a link to the AIDA**, (SSI Level 1 or PADI Freediver) theory materials, which are provided online.
All of your course materials are accessed online and they’re kept up-to-date by AIDA (SSI & PADI) so that after your course you’ll have lifetime access to the very latest guidance and information. You will need to register yourself with the appropriate organisation.
Home study means you can familiarise yourself with the basics at your own pace and will mean more time for you in the water over the weekend of the course.
What to expect
We begin with a theory over-view and in-depth discussion, where we aim to answer and clarify any areas that need a further explanation, this takes place first. During the day we cover all aspects of the beginner or intermediate level Freediving, from the disciplines, anatomy, techniques and safety. This is followed by pool/confined water practical’s, safety and assessments. Please bring a bottle of water to drink.
We will meet up and discuss all the skills required for depth and refresh the depth related theory and then begin open water practical’s and skills relevant for depth. Please bring a bottle of water to drink.
By the end of the weekend you could be diving to depths up to 20m in the most relaxed and safe manner possible. .
